I’m Laura McIntyre, M.Ed., NBCT—an educator who’s been in the classroom trenches since 2006. I’ve got a Bachelor’s in Special Education, a Master’s in Literacy Education, and I’m proud to be in the top 3% of educators nationwide with National Board Certification. Since 2019, I’ve helped almost 900 educators reach this prestigious milestone, as well.
I’m also Orton-Gillingham trained and love geeking out on the science of reading. One of my proudest achievements? Using OG in the classroom to exponentially boost student achievement—my co-teacher and I improved the majority of our students' i-Ready scores by 1-3 grade levels in just the first semester!
I’ve maintained a 100% compliance rate for high-cost IEPs, ensuring every submission met the strict requirements for financial recoupment. This precision ensures that schools secure the necessary funds to support our most vulnerable students effectively.
Since 2014, I’ve held building and district leadership roles, mentoring dozens of special education teachers, and collaborating with district and school administrators to improve student outcomes and access across 18 buildings.
I provided high-quality professional development since 2017. My professional development sessions cover a wide range of topics, including:
Data Collection
Evidence-Based Practices
Data-Driven Decision Making
Intensive Interventions
IEP Compliance
Science of Reading
Progress Monitoring
Improving "De Minimis" Progress
Behavior Intervention Plans & Functional Behavior Assessments
Standardized Academic Assessments
Trauma-Informed Practices
Strengths-Based IEPs
Inclusive Culture
And much more!
